After leaving my friend Goedele’s birthday party the sunset light on the beautiful pasture land of Norwood was extraordinary — particularly with the dark stormy clouds in the background and the sun just slipping under the blanket of clouds.

The light though this yellow umbrella was so intense that it created interesting subtle light shifts on the model’s face that intrigued me.

Week 43, Petunias and Quimper

There has been so much wind lately that I opted for another still life. I love the purple of these petunias in one of my outdoor baskets and decided that these combined with a little Quimper pitcher I have would make a sweet little still life.
